This lampshade is made using Eco board which is environmentally friendly and sustainable, it and the fabric has been treated with flame retardant making it completely safe for use.

Eco-Board is an environmentally friendly material, made from 100% elemental chlorine free wood pulps which are at least 30% recycled and totally recyclable, and sourced from carefully managed and renewed forests.  
I use fire retardant on both board and fabric for safety and protection.
